Cost Of Kitchen Appliances

When you start thinking about upgrading your kitchen appliances, the first thing you’ll want to do is create a budget. Often, homeowners choose to upgrade a few appliances at once to get the latest technology. However, don’t forget about the installation costs. It’s always good to try and find a store or company that will install for free with purchase. But, be prepared to accommodate these costs in your planning. The average cost to install kitchen appliances is $185, with most homeowners spending between $129 and $185.

Picking Out Your Kitchen Appliances

The next step to finding your new kitchen appliance is to evaluate their use. As I mentioned earlier, consider how you use your kitchen. Do you feed a big family? Do you love using new gadgets for intricate dishes? Think about the ideal cooking area and what equipment you’d want to use. Pupillo suggests starting with refrigerators and cooking elements before moving on to smaller appliances.

“These appliances have the largest variation from brand to brand, so you want to make sure you love the features they offer,” she said. “Try to select the same brand for larger appliances that are physically near each other. Every brand has its own color variation of stainless, white, black, etc. When you place two large appliances near each other, you may notice the coloration difference if you do not use the same brand.”

1. Large Ranges

If you do a lot of cooking and hosting, a new large range is just what you need for your kitchen upgrade. “Large ranges are [popular] right now,” Pupillo said. “These ranges are often 48” wide and have 1 full oven and 1 half-sized oven. The half size oven is great for casserole dishes, baking, etc. The top of the range has the ability to hold up to 8 burners, or an option for a griddle or grill surface. It gives people a lot of flexibility for cooking options!”

For home chefs, the Thor Kitchen Professional Gas Range is a dream come true. A cooktop for every item and plenty of oven space to feed a crowd. Can you imagine how great this would be in your kitchen?

2. Steam Ovens

If you love having the latest and greatest in your kitchen, look no further than the steam oven. “The hottest must-have appliance right now is a steam oven,” Pupillo said. “It cooks food using convection heat and interjects steam at the appropriate times cooking food quicker than a typical oven and keeping food moist. It is great for reheating leftovers and making them taste just as great as they did the first time you made them!”

I love reheating leftovers, and if you’ve forgone the microwave in your home as I have, a steam oven can be an excellent solution for you. Check out the Single Electric Wall Oven With Steam Cook by Samsung to include in your kitchen appliance installation.

3. Smart Refrigerator

Smart technology is invading every area of the home, and for a good reason. In the kitchen, it can make life easier by helping you keep track of your groceries, multitask with the weather and plan out your weekly meals. The top-of-the-line smart refrigerator right now is the Samsung Family Hub. Not only can you use it for notes, calendars and music, but you can actually see inside the fridge without opening it up, saving energy. How cool is that?

4. Microwave

Many homes choose to have a microwave for convenience cooking. It’s a great way to heat up a quick lunch or defrost dinner before cooking. However, they can often be big and bulky. If you’re trying to save countertop space, look for a model you can put on a shelf or cabinet.

“I would advise against a microwave that sits on a countertop,” Pupillo said. “These take up a lot of space and are not usually the greatest quality. Try to build the microwave into a cabinet for a less cluttered look and free up a lot of countertop space!”

The good news is, microwaves don’t have to be big to be powerful. Check out the affordable Frigidaire Built-In Microwave that can easily fit into your cabinet space or above your range. It will make a beautiful addition to your kitchen without stealing the spotlight from your décor.

5. Dishwasher

If you don’t have a dishwasher, put this on your upgrade list. You’ll save so much time by having the dishwasher do the hard work for you, rather than doing it by hand. Check out the KitchenAid Built-In Dishwasher with stainless steel tub, window, and lighted interior. This allows you to see the deep clean your dishes are getting, as it happens!

New kitchen appliances are big decisions and finding the best fit for you is essential. As every kitchen is different, be sure to find the right appliance for your lifestyle and budget, that you can enjoy for years to come.
